About

Van Lang is a nonprofit organization founded in 1994 with a mission to preserve and to promote the Vietnamese language and culture, and to strengthen the bonds in Vietnamese-American families.

As a trusted community-based organization, Van Lang has collaborative relationships with many other local organizations such as Seattle Children’s Museum, Tet in Seattle, Chief Sealth International High School in Southwest Seattle, Delridge Community, Highline and Seattle School District.

Currently, we have over 50 dedicated volunteer instructors and over 30 active volunteer members with experience working with Vietnamese youths, elders, immigrants and refugees.

Every year we provide Vietnamese as a second language (VSL) classes to over 200 youths and young adults. In addition to teaching Vietnamese, Van Lang volunteers also organize many culture-based enrichment events such as the Summer Festival, Lantern Festival and Competition, Lunar New Year celebration and Summer picnic for our students, the Vietnamese community and local community members. These events help strengthen the spirits and dedication of many of our students, volunteers, parents, and local community members.
